How we met

Nikky and Daniel met through some mutual friends at a few social gatherings some years ago, but nothing much happened outside of the getting to know you phase. In early 2017, Nikky and Daniel reconnected on a dating site with Nikky liking Daniel's profile. Conviently, Nikky and Daniel were already Facebook friends which helped them kick off their first conversation. Within a week they met at a Starbucks, at which point Daniel realized he would be looking down for the rest of his life. Their first date was at Starbucks, which Nikky was a barista for at the time! They went on many dates including Chihuly Glass Muesum and the Kirkland waterfront (which ended up being where the engagement photos were).

As the end of the year approached and Daniel scrambled to figure out how the heck to propose to this perfect woman, the thought of returning to the glass museum for New Year's Eve celebrations was too good to pass up. A couple hours before midnight they snuck outside in the freezing cold weather and Daniel refused to share his coat because a photographer was about to take pictures of the proposal, but Nikky won't let Daniel leave out Daniel's inconsideration for her well-being in this story.

Wedding Party

Thomas

I can't say when I first met Thomas, he's just always been there. We didn't really get to know each other until middle school, and those summers were amazing. We would walk to Phillips 66 to buy Fruit Mentos and drinks, then walk back home and play Runescape until midnight. In the years since, Thomas has become a close confidant who is always ready to have a good time and share good advice.

Kaelene

From a young age I always called Kaelene, Sissy. Growing up I always wanted to be just like her: funny, social and smart. Growing up we used to bicker some, but that all changed the moment sissy turned 16! Once she learned she drive, her and I would jam out to songs like jenny on the block and anything by maroon 5 or Gwen Stefani. I was born with a sissy, but definitely I was blessed with a forever best friend. Kaelene is someone who I have and will always look up to. I know she will always tell me the truth and give me the best advice. Plus, she makes me laugh harder than anyone ever will. I love you sissy!!!!

Rusty

Rusty and I became best friends in second grade and it has gone downhill since then. After years of barely putting up with me, he left to become a California miscreant. For most people that might be the end of a friendship, but Rusty has worked hard to maintain a lasting connection and we've both made an effort to continue hanging out together.

Claire

Claire and I met when we were both 12 and in 6th grade through an all-girls organization, Many of you know as Rainbow girls! Claire is one of those vivacious people, that when they enter the room, it lights up and their energy surrounds you! We have had some awesome memories from long car rides, being late to rainbow events, nights out dancing and going to endless concerts including zz ward! One fun fact that I always hold against her is that I’m 5 days older, which later in life she can hold against me for being younger... hahah! As we have grown up our friendship has evolved into more of an adult relationship and I am so lucky to call Claire one of my very best friends that I can confide in and who I know will always be there for me.

Colden

No one had a larger influence on my life in college than Colden. Being around Colden makes you aspire to do more, and together we accomplished so much: Storytown, Project 192, SGPX, Dash, BrickHack, and being the first people to graduate with a Free and Open Source Software minor. After three years of sharing a home in Seattle I'm happy you've found a home in Ballard, and let's not forget to have some Saturday morning donuts again.

Karina

Karina and I met on the first day of 5th grade in Mrs. Kang’s class. We were all doing introductions and Karina had mentioned she just moved from another school and didn’t know anyone. In my attempt to cheer her up I made a complete fool of myself, which she thought was funny and scary at the same time. This began a very interesting and amazing life long friendship! Karina and I lived a few miles away from each other so we often would walk to each others houses for movies, makeovers and girl talk with some delicious food and energy drinks. Karina and I went through some crazy times moving to central to go to CWU and were roomies for a short time. Karina is one of those friends that even if you don’t talk to them every day, every time you seem that it’s like no time has passed!

Brandon

Brandon and I met in the first year of college and have been good friends since. I don't think we have ever once had a fight about anything beyond how to code something, which is very impressive for being roommates for 3.5 years. Brandon kindly forwarded my resume to Microsoft after he earned an internship, and I was lucky enough to get to follow him to Seattle and Microsoft. I greatly appreciate his will to socialize and willingness to let me tag along. He's the kind of guy who you want to be around if you can't tell.

Lindsey

Lindsey and I met originally in high school, but got reconnected through working together at Starbucks! What I love about Lindsey is her enthusiasm and positivity! Lindsey is so good at making people feel happy and we share a mutual love for video games, animated movies and coffee! I am so thankful to have lindsey in my life and call her one of my great friends!

Bhanu

Bhanu has the unique role of coming into my life at the same time as Nikky and I started dating. He had just started on my team at work and needed a place to live, so Colden and I offered him a room in our house. Bhanu brings a joy to life that can be heard from his emphatic laugh. Nikky and I love to get together with him to hang out and I appreciate getting to use his brains to help me out at work.

Payton

Payton and I also met through Starbucks. She was actually one of the first people I helped train when I became a starbucks trainer. Payton later went on to be my shift supervisor and that it where her and I realized how similar we actually are and became so close! Payton and I share a mutual love for lipstick, music and coffee! She is always great at making me laugh! I am so happy to have payton as a bridesmaid in my wedding and to call her my friend. She has such a sweet and loving heart and I am so thankful for her!

Lionel

Nikky and I adopted Lionel in March 2018. Seattle Humane said he was the healthiest cat there, and even though he was shy he would likely warm up to us after a few months. One week after we got him he was watching TV with us, adding his meows to our conversations, and sleeping on top of Daniel. His name was given by the shelter and we kept it because he has a sweet mane, but Nikky has taken to calling him Mr. Richie. At ~7 years old, he still has many more years of being stuck with us.
